Steeped in history, this Italian-style villa has been rebuilt with the utmost respect.
Preserving the elegance of an early 20th-century residence without freezing it in time.
This listed house in La Croix-Valmer required a particularly respectful approach to its original architecture. The façade mouldings, friezes and window designs had to be carefully preserved and accurately reproduced so as never to alter the identity of the building.
Inside, the approach was deliberately different. At the request of our Swiss-German clients, we developed a highly restrained, refined and comfortable interior, where luxury comes more from the quality of the materials and the precision of the details than from accumulation.
The floors were inspired by the terrazzo found in grand historic Italian residences, reinterpreted through a more contemporary language. Stone, timber and natural materials create an intentionally calm palette, punctuated by a selection of timeless design pieces.
The project seeks a balance between two attitudes: rigorously respecting the history and character of the house on the outside, while allowing the interior to express a much more contemporary way of living.
Preserved architecture, a deliberately quiet interior: here, decoration steps back and allows the house itself to speak.
